New Rider Guide
Never done a cycling event before? You're in the right place. Our events are designed for everyone — from your first 15-mile ride to your first century. Here's what to expect.
Before the Event
- ✓Register online — pick your distance (15, 30, 62, or 100 miles). You can always adjust before event day.
- ✓Prep your bike — make sure tires are inflated, brakes work, and gears shift smoothly. Visit a local shop if needed.
- ✓Train at your pace — even 2-3 rides a week for a few weeks makes a big difference. Join our free weekly rides to build up.
- ✓Check the route — we publish routes 2-4 weeks before each event. Study rest stop locations and distance markers.
Event Day
- ✓Arrive 30+ minutes early for check-in, packet pickup, and bike prep.
- ✓Ride at your pace — this is not a race. Rest stops are stocked with water, nutrition, and mechanical support.
- ✓SAG vehicles patrol the route — if you need a ride back, flag one down. No shame, no judgment.
- ✓Finish line celebration — food, drinks, music, raffle drawing, and awards. All registered riders welcome.
